The Family Reunion

The Family Reunion

This was The Family Reunion where Merrick and Barbara’s wanted to capture the beauty and craftsmanship that went into building their house. Merrick is a renovating guru – he built this house with his bare hands. Literally. He toiled and laboured, brick-by-brick, trowel stroke-by trowel stroke. It has taken him all of 30 years to get to this stage. He has a little bit to go but I tell you what – being a part-time renovator myself, I can fully understand the labour of love that has gone into this house.
It’s enough to make one go mad, and if you don’t go mad, then the people around you will do it on your behalf!
Love you guys, and I am truly honoured to have been able to capture this beautiful family moment. I especially liked the convict made bricks – complete with Possum footprints. They add to the story behind this very unique house.

Evelyn + Jeremy composite

This composite image of Evelyn and Jeremy was taken at the park next to their house. The bark on the eucalyptus tree that Evelyn climbed on looks cartoon-like and I thought it was the perfect for the serenade setting.evejeremy-composite3-1

Evelyn + Jeremy

Such a wonderful couple, each with their own wealth of cultural background. El Salvador, French, Australian – and now married! Eve and Jeremy were easy to photograph, they are so photogenic! On the menu was Cumbia, French and Spanish and a wedding cake that Evelyn made herself.

Bamboo Koalas

Bernie asked me to do a shoot of her family and newborn daughter Matilda, so we took a stroll down the bamboo garden at Mt. Cooth Tha. Matilda is such a happy and smiling baby girl (when she was awake). Congratulations to the happy parents! xox

Varvara + Maxim

Varvara + Maxim are such beautiful people and great friends… I was happy to be invited as a guest rather than the wedding photographer because the Japanese beers just kept on coming! Awesome :)

Erica + Steve – Sherwood Arboretum

Love conquers all. I am an avid believer that you don’t need a huge budget to have a beautiful wedding. All you really need is each other, close friends and family. Erica and Steve are such a beautiful couple, genuine and honest. It was a real pleasure being in their company for this shoot.

Gabbinbar Homestead Wedding

Gabbinbar Homestead Wedding – Jez and Chris are a truly beautiful couple. We headed to Gabbinbar Homestead a couple of months prior to the wedding so we could get a “feel for it”. I ran some ideas by Jez (i.e. the Kung-Fu bride shot and the video stills) and she immediately said she was keen to do them. How wonderful is that?!!? I told her I wanted to highlight her and Chris’ passion for TaeKwon Do and capture the moment in a timeless composed photograph.

We were a bit saddened to find out that peacocks lose their beautiful plumage in a process called “molting” – just like a deciduous tree (bet you didn’t know that). Say what?? But don’t worry, they grow back when they want to mate and strut their stuff.

But enough about peacocks, this was going to be Jez and Chris’ day and no featherless peafowls would spoil it. I have photos to prove it.
